Are you REALLY ready to be an Entrepreneur?
Are you REALLY ready to be an Entrepreneur?
I was totally unprepared when I became a full-time entrepreneur. I was a newlywed who had just been fired from my job. I had will, determination, a couple dollars, big dreams and aspirations. However, what I also needed was a practical business and financial education, and entrepreneurship training. Yes, I achieved a six-figure income shortly after my second year, but I just can’t help to think how much faster my company could have grown had I been better prepared. Most people won’t rave about getting what they paid for, but they will tell everyone about a bad experience. This is why I recommend being as prepared as possible prior to launching any business venture.
Here are just a few absolute necessities I recommend prior to beginning any successful business venture:
What product or service will you provide? Do you have graphics and a logo? A website? Business address? How will you advertise your business? Do you have a WRITTEN business plan including a business model? Do you have experience, an internship, and/or a mentor who is successful? Do you have a complete market analysis for your industry? Of course, there will be things learned and adjusted along the way, but there is only one chance to make a first impression. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising. This can be positive but most often negative.
So considering these things, are you REALLY ready?
